Members and guests of the California Psychiatric Association attended the 30th Annual Conference to participate in three days of seminars, educational forums and collaboration.  As customary, the event kicked off with a Fun Run that took participants up the hill adjacent to Tenaya Lodge, where runners got a close-up view of the devastation done by forest fires that swept the region months before the conference. Specialty caucuses, such as the Women's Caucus, the Senior Psychiatrists, Training Directors Caucus and Resident Fellow Caucus met throughout the event to provide opportunities to talk among colleagues. A special Sunday morning seminar featured a panel on gender identity and psychiatry that drew an avid audience. The guest speaker at the luncheon was Assembly Member Joaquin Arambula, MD. CPA President Dr. William Arroyo presented Dr. Mary Ann Schaepper and Dr. Larry Lawrence with Special Recognition Awards for their significant Contributions to the CPA.
