Integrated Care Policy Statement*
The California Psychiatric Association (CPA )shall explore legislative, budgetary and/or regulatory options to achieve integrated medical and psychiatric care. Focus will be on solutions that reduce barriers to and/or increase incentives for communication, collaboration and consultation between primary care and psychiatric physicians. Further, CPA shall also explore options to increase incentives for and/or to remove barriers in to providing easier integration of nurse practitioners and physician assistants into the mental health workforce.
